Virginia International Raceway hosted the 9th round of the American Motorcycle Association's Superbike Championship August 18th, 19th, and 20th in Alton, VA. Jason DiSalvo of Stafford, New York continued his prowess of pole positions by setting the fastest qualifying time in the Formula Xtreme class, extending his consecutive poles to 7 and establishing a new track record. In the Superstock class again having the fastest qualifying time although not breaking his previous track record, put him in the pole position for the race. Jason now has the distinction of holding three track records at Virginia International Raceway; the Supersport record in 2004, Superstock record in 2005 and a current 2006 record in Formula Xtreme.

The race weekend with qualifying on Friday for Formula Xtreme and the race on Saturday saw Jason, with a less than stellar start, found himself sitting fourth after the first lap ultimately running third for another podium finish.

In the Superstock class from his pole position he ran 5th battling his way to third to claim another podium for the weekend.

With the season rapidly coming to a close there are two races left which will determine the Formula Xtreme Championship which Jason is currently sitting second with two points separating him from the leader.
