- Press Release 8
(Batavia, NY) - 10/10/2011
The last round of AMA Daytona Sportbike racing took place September 3rd and 4th at New Jersey Motorsports Park with Jason racing a Latus Motors Triumph 675R for the first time as a prelude to the 2012 Season. With a brand new bike, having tested it prior to the race, Jason placed 7th in Saturday’s race and duplicated that effort with another 7th finish on Sunday.
The move to Triumph for Latus Motors Racing signifies a major change for the upcoming season with a bike that has the potential to compete at the top level of the class. Jason expressed his feelings indicating the Triumph was definitely “a nimble machine with a strong heart”. With some off season testing the Triumph should be competitive in this class.
The first outing in 2012 will be the Daytona 200 which was last won on a Triumph in 1967 by one of the greats, Gary Nixon.
The off season will find Jason at the Jason DiSalvo Speed Academy with various dates for the next three months.
